Hello!

I’m Clarissa, an illustrator and painter from Brownsville, TX and a 2nd year graduate student in MFA Illustration Practice at the Maryland Institute College of Art. I received her B.A. in Art from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. A majority of my work carries a narrative about nature, my personal life, social issues, my Mexican heritage, Tejano culture and community. I occasional dabble in animation. I’m currently working on my thesis project, a graphic novel centering on four friends navigating life in their border town.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where I also dabbled in oil painting and printmaking.
