I’m Clarissa, a freelance illustrator, multidisciplinary artist and adjunct instructor from Brownsville, TX.
I have experience in editorial illustration and illustrative murals, but I’m open and on the look out for any unique projects! I love portraiture, bold colors, painterly textures, and exploring themes around pop culture, my Mexican heritage, and nature. I also love exploring spooky narratives; I’m currently on the hunt for movie poster opportunities!
Clients include AARP, Walmart and Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. My portrait of Dolores Huerta was an AI-AP Selected Winner for the AI41 annual. If you want to keep up with my work, you can find sketches and more on my Instagram at @_clarimartinez.

My personal work involves oils, watercolors, book making and other analog mediums that often involve nature motifs. This work tends to explore personal issues, self-healing, and the relationship between women and religion within Latinx communities.
